Loft Space Clearance Due to Rat/Mice Contamination
Rats and mice cause significant contamination of loft insulation and stored goods when they enter our loft spaces. This article looks at our loft clearance and disinfection services that we provide to our customers following a rodent infestation.
Rats produce around 30 droppings per day and mice produce around 70 droppings per day, which can result in thousands of droppings scattered on, in and under the loft insulation. Rodents are also constantly producing urine that over time permeates into the insulation and stored goods. This not only introduces the risk of disease transmission but also causes one heck of a foul smell.
It is vital before we undertake any clearance and disinfection that the current infestation is eradicated and the source of the issue rectified. This is best done by a pest professional so that the eradication is complete and any gaps and defects can be repaired.
Our loft clearance includes the following:
- Removal of old insulation.
- Vacuuming away of rodent droppings and debris.
- Disinfection of the loft space by means of spraying and ULV (Ultra Low Volume) application. This is a machine that generates a fine mist of disinfectant. The disinfectant we use is a specialist product used to neutralise pathogens associated with rodent infestations.
- Laying of new loft insulation.
